Michael's obituary
Michael “Mike or Mickey” Carpenter, 80, of Erlanger, Kentucky, passed away suddenly on July 18, 2023, in Cordele, Georgia while moving to Florida. He was a Christian, loving husband, father, and friend. Mike never met a stranger and always knew how to tell a good story, bringing smiles to everyone’s faces. His interests included movies, travel, reading, golf, tinkering, and indulging in desserts, especially anything chocolate.
Mike is survived by his wife, Patricia, his daughters, Michelle and Leigh, his grandsons, Jonathan and Andrew, his granddaughters, Deborah and Mary, his sister, Sharon, his brother and sister-in-law, Bill and Linda Cooley, and brother and sister-in-law Bob and Sandy Christman, whom he considered a true brothers and sisters. He was preceded in death by his father, Matchett, his mother, Mae, his brother, Ken, and his daughter, Tracy.
Throughout his career, Mike worked as a technician at Proctor and Gamble, where he made valuable contributions. His dedication and expertise were greatly appreciated by his colleagues.
Mike worshipped at Erlanger Baptist Church, where he found solace and community, It was a place that held a special meaning in his life.
In his free time, Mike enjoyed painting, drawing, model building puzzle-making, being a handyman, and coin collecting. These hobbies allowed him to express his creativity and appreciate the beauty in the world.
A ceremony to celebrate Mike’s life will be held on Wednesday, July 26th, with visitation beginning at 1 PM, and service at 2 PM at Erlanger Baptist Church in Erlanger, KY.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that contributions be made to Samaritan’s Purse for Bibles. This organization held significance to Mike, as he deeply valued his faith.
Mike’s warm presence, storytelling, and genuine love for others will be dearly missed by all who knew him. May his memory and Christian example bring comfort and peace to those who loved him.
