Michael's obituary
Michael was a talented artist and loved dancing and fitness. He was born to be an artist! At a very young age, he started to choreograph and design Hip-Hop routines for his neighborhood's annual block parties. Michael attended Grace Dodge High School where he took his talent to the stage by introducing his uniquely choreographed dance sequences and created memorable stage performances. His passion for the artistry of dance offered an expressive reenactment of our culture. Michael's talent let him to start the dance groups "Xpressions of Kolor" while attending State University of New York (SUNY) Cobleskill and "Nex Level" while attending SUNY Albany. As another example of his innovative nature, Michael started his own clothing line called "Major Method." He also taught fitness classes and led many to fitness lifestyle through his work with Bally's Gym.
With his open and expressive nature, Michael made a host of friends who later became an integral part of his life.
Michael Lawrence Butler is survived by his mother Patricia G. Butler; his two sisters Jodie M. Butler-Antoine and Deaja S. Butler; and his life-partner Darrell Paul. He will also be missed by his faithful pup, Shadow and a host of cousins, aunts, uncles, and friends.
