Michael Vernon Bruhn, age 66, a resident of Elberta, Alabama, passed away May 10th, 2023.

Michael was born August 10th, 1956 in Pensacola, Florida. He attended Elberta School and graduated from Foley High School. He was an inaugural student of Pensacola Christian College where he graduated with a Bachelors of Science in Business Administration He worked at Roman J. Claprood for 17 years and at Woerner Agribusiness for 27 years. Michael was a lifetime member of Berean Baptist Church where he served as Treasurer, Minister of Music, and Deacon. He was a much beloved son, brother, husband, father, grampy, church member, co-worker, and friend. He loved Jesus, and it was reflected in everything he did and how he treated others. Michael’s life was characterized by faithfulness.

Michael was preceded in death by parents, Vernon and Dorothy Bruhn, and daughter, Mary Elizabeth Bruhn.

He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Octavia Benson; Children, Naomi (Roberto) Bruhn Armendariz of Lafayette, IN, Amanda Bruhn Borders of Lafayette, IN, JoyAnne (Javier) Bruhn Lozano of New Paris, IN, and Benjamin Bruhn of Elberta, AL; grandchildren, Andrew and Abigail Borders, Emma and Anne Lozano; and many other loving relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held at Berean Baptist Church’s gymnasium at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 16, 2023. The family will receive friends from 12:00-2:00 p.m. prior to the service.

Interment will follow in Elberta Public Cemetery in Elberta, Alabama.
