The Michael Berkowitz Memorial Endowed Scholarship
We’re honored to launch The Michael Berkowitz Memorial Endowed Scholarship, a future scholarship that will support young singer-songwriters attending the Interlochen Center for the Arts summer camp.
Interlochen was a pivotal part of Michael’s life. As a gifted musician, he found a creative home there, one that nurtured his talent, confidence, and imagination. He spent his summers writing songs, performing, collaborating, and growing as both an artist and a person. It’s where his love for music deepened and his creative spark truly ignited.
This fund is our way of carrying Michael’s legacy forward. Michael believed deeply in the power of connection through music and was passionate about encouraging others to find their voice. By supporting this scholarship, you’re helping make it possible for a new generation of young artists to access the same transformative experience that shaped Michael’s journey.

Thanks to your generosity, the Michael Berkowitz Memorial Scholarship Endowment has now been officially established at Interlochen Center for the Arts. The love and support our family has received during this time has been deeply moving. We are incredibly grateful, and it means so much to be able to channel this outpouring of love into something so meaningful.
Because of you, Michael’s legacy will continue to shine by helping young singer-songwriters attend Interlochen and experience the same inspiring community that meant so much to him.

Why it matters
Not every talented young artist has the financial means to attend a place like Interlochen. Your contributions directly support students who show promise in music but need help to afford tuition.
