Mike’s service was small with not much fuss - just as he would’ve wanted it. It was a small private family graveside service where we said goodbye to him one last time as we buried his ashes in a beautiful barn wood urn next to his wife (our mom). We then hosted a big party in his honor at one of Mike’s favorite places, The Strike zone Bowling Alley in Aurora, MO to celebrate the 67 wonderful years we spent with him. There was bar-b-que, lots of family, grandkids, and many great friends. We bowled a game in his honor and enjoyed a nice afternoon chatting about Mike and the life he lived. Mike spent the last few weeks of his life in the hospital trying to overcome a myriad of ailments. He fought hard. He wanted to stay with us so badly. It was difficult to watch him as he struggled but he gave it all a fighting chance and we are so proud of how hard he tried. We appreciate everyone’s support as we made sure Mike was never alone and helped encourage him and provide him comfort. He passed away two weeks shy of his 68th birthday He was a wonderful man and he is sorely missed.
