Mike's obituary

Michael "Mike" Allan Miller passed away at his family's home in Omaha, NE on March 13th, 2025 at the age of 72. He was born in Sharon, PA to Robert Miller Sr. and Mary Miller on July 8th, 1952. Mike had a wandering spirit about him that would take him to a number of places after leaving Pennsylvania, including Florida, Missouri, Illinois, Ohio, and Nebraska. Over those years and miles, he learned a number of trades that included various types of contract work, trucking, and manufacturing. In his later years, Mike thoroughly enjoyed his job working for Pepperjax Grill, where much of the staff still warmly remembers him as Grandpa. Mike went on many of these adventures with his loving wife, Mary Miller, who bravely spent 50 years with him.

Perhaps the most admirable thing about Mike is that for the amount of knowledge and skill he had, he could've likely made himself a more than modest living, but instead spent much of his time using that knowledge and skill to help the people he loved. Despite the fact that he was sometimes raunchy, tactless, and even insensitive in his sense of humor; the true fabric of Mike was woven with threads of sincere care, willingness, hard work, and Marlboro cigarettes. Even as Mike's health declined over the past year, he spent his time working with his grandkids on building a deck and changing brakes on the cars. He was elated to become a great grandparent and milked every last moment of it. Whatever he was lacking in energy, he was making up for by emitting even more love for the people around him.

Mike's absence leaves enough space for a canyon of grief, but I can say with the utmost certainty that he would prefer that we fill that canyon with our best memories of him and a more than acceptable amount of Southern Comfort. While our days may never be the same without him in physical form, he leaves behind a lifetime of hilarious stories and an innumerable amount of grandchildren due to his introductory mantra, "Just call me Grandpa."

Mike is preceded in death by his parents Robert Miller Sr. and Mary Brocklehurst; son Michael Jaskulski; siblings Linda, Butch, Monte; siblings-in-law Cork Swahn, Skip Ruhlman, Ron McArtor, Debbie McArtor, Sandy McArtor, and Mike Wood.

Mike is survived by his siblings Chuck (Terri), Margie, Diane, Anna Marie (Larry), Tony, and Carl (Dorothy); siblings-in-law Barb (Bob), Gloria, Pat, Cathy (Gary), and Tina (Kasie); children Cindy (Shane), Bob (Dawna), June Marie (Wade), and Lisa Jaskulski; grandchildren Kordell Miller, Maiya Miller, Zavier Miller, Alliana Miller, Adelena Miller, Dustin Jaskulski, Dylan Jaskulski, Dakota Jaskulski, Corey Robison, Hannah Kaar, Ella Robison, Kyle Robison, Jonathan Henderson, and 8 great-grandchildren.
