Michael Alan Fox, of Commack, New York, passed away on August 19, 2025, at the age of 77.

Born on March 25, 1948, Michael lived a full and joyful life. He was the beloved husband of Francine “Cookie” Fox, with whom he shared endless laughter, love, and adventures—including their favorite trips to Aruba.

Michael was the proud father of four children: Ethan, Deirdre, Joshua, and his youngest, Jennifer “Jackpot” Fox of Washington, D.C., married to Jonathan Simons. Jennifer was his baby, and everyone knew just how proud he was of her.

Michael never met a stranger—he could strike up a conversation with anyone, and usually did. Whether it was talking with neighbors, making friends on vacation, or simply sharing a story, his warmth and humor drew people in. He loved music (especially Jimmy Buffett), good company, and finding joy in the everyday.

He also had a big heart for dogs. His beloved dog Teddy Bear was a constant companions who brought him endless happiness.

Michael’s spirit will be remembered in the laughter he sparked, the love he gave, and the countless connections he made along the way.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, August 22, at 11:00 a.m. at Cedar Park Cemetery. Following the service, all who loved Michael are invited to join the Fox family for a celebration of his life at their home.

As Jimmy Buffett sang, when the waters feel rough, “bubbles up.” May Michael’s spirit always rise and guide us, just as he lifted those around him.
