Michael's obituary
We mourn the passing of Michael Aehlert, who was born on January 30, 1950, and left us on March 27, 2025. A man who was truly the "life of the party," his vivacity and infectious spirit will be sorely missed by his loved ones and everyone who was fortunate enough to know him.
Michael is survived by his loving wife, Joni Aehlert, and his devoted daughter, Andrea Aehlert Spridik. His greatest accomplishments, he often said, were in the family he was immensely proud of. His life was a testament to the love he had for them, and their memories of him are filled with warmth and laughter.
Michael had a varied palette in music, with favorites like Billy Joel and The Beatles often filling his home with joyful tunes. His love for television was unmistakably reflected in his fondness for shows like Law & Order. An ardent supporter of the Miami Dolphins, he never missed a game and spoke of his team with much enthusiasm.
As someone who loved using his hands, Michael found joy in recreational activities like fishing and working on cars. Every summer, he looked forward to vacations to one of his favorite spots, Marco Island, where he would spend his time soaking in the sun, buried in a good book, or casting his fishing line into the sea.
Passionate about giving back, Michael held Veterans' causes close to his heart. He believed in service to the community and often contributed his time and resources towards supporting our veterans.
Michael's legacy is best summed up in his own words, "Choose kindness." He lived by these words and they permeated every interaction he had. The ripple effect of his kindness can be felt far and wide, and this will continue to influence and inspire everyone he touched. We will remember him for his love, his laughter, and his unwavering kindness. His radiant spirit will live on in our hearts always.
