When I was six I spent a summer in California with my dad. He had a sliding glass door in his kitchen, which led to a patio full of nice warm rocks. In the morning he would slide open the door so a lizaed could run out from under the fridge, and then out to the patio. At night the lizard would be waiting at the door, his sticky little lizard toes all splayed out on the glass, head cocked, waiting. My Dad would go over and let him in. "Hey Buddy." He told me they had an arrangement. This is a seriously enchanting fact about my dad that no one else could know. It's something that made me smile. My dad was a good friend to that lizard. If there's some kind of point system in the afterlife, that should go in the file.
