Micah's obituary

Micah Benjamin Mazzuca was born on April 27, 2006 in Yakima, Washington. While Micah spent his early months in Swaziland (now Eswatini), Africa, he lived the majority of his life around Olympia, Washington.

Even as a baby, Micah's smile lit up a room. His joy, sense of humor, and positively contagious personality filled so many lives with so much love. From an early age, Micah showed a passion and talent for music and theater. Micah was a star, shining bright from his earliest plays in elementary and middle school to lead roles in his all-time favorite high school productions including The Importance of Being Earnest and Beauty and the Beast. Micah taught himself to play guitar and thrived in choir, performing at state level competitions and even performing in Disneyland. He graduated from North Thurston High School in 2024 and went on to Western Washington University, where he double majored in music and education with plans of becoming a high school choir, drama, and English teacher. We will never forget Micah's incredible solo performance of "We're Going to Be Friends" at graduation (including when he nearly knocked over the Washington State flag in front of everyone in attendance).

When Micah wasn't performing, he loved nothing more than spending time with his friends. From Dungeons and Dragons to camping trips to random adventures around the state, Micah was known for being up for anything and would have a playlist ready to go. His dice collection was almost as large as his record collection. His love for the Seahawks was almost as great as his love for music. And no one who knows Micah will be able to watch Psych, listen to indie albums, or go thrift shopping without thinking of him.

Micah passed away on October 9, 2024. He is survived by his mother, Crystal Mazzuca, his father and stepmother, Nathan and Kindra Mazzuca, his brothers Judah and Noah Mazzuca, his sister, Cosette Mazzuca, his grandmothers Sharyn Buck and Kim McMillan, great-grandmother Esther Keup, and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Micah is greatly loved and will be greatly missed. He loved us so much and we will always and forever love him.
