Background
Dear Family and Friends of Micah,
Losing a loved one is life-altering, but when it is sudden and seemingly before their time, it leaves an indelible mark that challenges the faith and strength of even the strongest among us. Micah T. Hines was called home earlier than any of us could have imagined. Micah was also known as Big Mike – his giving spirit and his heart, both professionally and personally, always set the standard. His smile, his work ethic, his generosity…He earned his name. Born October 8, 1982, in Atlanta GA, he graduated from Johnson & Wales University Providence, RI campus in 2005. He crossed the burning sands of the Sigma Nu / Theta Epsilon Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. in July 2002 along with his line Brothers, Jason Musel (Omega Chapter), Edward Green III, Dr. Craig Washington, MD and Brady Thomas. He mastered the science of marketing, having the gift to translate people’s visions into physical reality. He also mastered a particular space in the culinary arts, building his brand known as Big Mike’s Tacos.
Micah is the second of four Hines brothers to have gone home too soon. He is survived by his wife Cherika and their amazing sons, Timothy Berry, Jr. (16), Micah Hines, Jr. (5), and their precious daughter, Maddison Hines (12).
Many have asked how they can help during this extremely difficult time. This page was created to provide an additional path to support the Hines family. With Micah’s sudden departure, the physical, spiritual, and financial burden will be that much more significant, adding to the stress and trauma of his loved ones. Additionally, the expenses associated with the educational journey of his three children will be substantial. Let us be their village. Please consider providing any financial support you can. Also, please feel free to reach out to Cherika, their children, and his extended family to let them know they are in your thoughts and prayers.
Micah Hines, Big Mike, we love you and miss you. Godspeed and Rest in Peace.
