Background

In Loving Memory of Elder M.E. Weir (1930–2025)
Honoring a Legacy of Faith, Education, and Service

Elder M.E. Weir, who passed away at the age of 95, was a man of unwavering faith, discipline, and lifelong learning. A son of the Jamaican countryside, he found his gateway to the world through Kingsway High School in Kingston. As a young boy with few means but deep ambition, Kingsway nurtured his early academic growth and spiritual foundation, setting the course for a life dedicated to ministry and education.

All of Elder Weir’s children would eventually pass through the gates of Kingsway, continuing a family tradition rooted in the value of Christian education and excellence. Elder Weir went on to earn a Bachelor of Science in Theology, a Master of Science in Theology, and ultimately received an Honorary Doctorate of Divinity—but he always credited his start to Kingsway High.

To honor his memory and his gratitude, Elder Weir requested that donations be made in his name to Kingsway High School. His final wish was to raise $5,000 USD to support needy students—young people today who, like him, may come from humble beginnings but carry great potential. These funds will be used to provide scholarships, school supplies, and educational support for students who need it most.

Donations in memory of Elder M.E. Weir can be sent directly to:
Kingsway High School
10–12 Osbourne Road
Kingston, Jamaica
Phone: (876) 968-9179

Your gift, no matter the size, will help continue Elder Weir’s legacy by investing in the future of a student who needs a chance—just like he once did.
