Mercedita “Mercy” was born in Cavite City, Philippines as the eldest of three siblings of Domingo Eleazar Realica (deceased) and Virginia Pescasio Angkayan. She was a resident of Cicero, Illinois before moving to Hayward, California. She then moved to East Palo Alto and eventually to Bakersfield where she spent the rest of her later years.
