It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Mercedes Tan, born on January 11, 1973, and entered into eternal rest on February 27, 2026. A woman of remarkable spirit and the life of every party, Mercedes left an indelible impression on everyone she met.
Mercedes is survived by her husband, Zsolt Szorenyi, and her cherished daughter, Sistina Tan. She was preceded in death by her father, Sergio Tan, and mother, Olga Tan. The family Mercedes leaves behind mourns her loss intensely, while cherishing the vivacious and joyous memories she gave to them.
Mercedes's life was a colorful tapestry of interests and passions. Among her favorites were TV Shows like Scooby Doo, Criminal Minds, and Yellowstone, which she would watch enthusiastically. Her favorite colors, like her personality, were vibrant, with gold standing out particularly. Mercedes's appetite for life carried over to her culinary preferences, which were wide-ranging, from Chinese to Cuban cuisine.
Music, especially Rock, was a significant part of Mercedes's life and brought her great joy. She had an eclectic taste from Journey's 'Don't Stop Believin', Guns and Roses' 'November Rain', Bon Jovi's 'Livin' on a Prayer', Motley Crue's 'Home Sweet Home' to Def Leppard's 'Hysteria'. She was also an ardent fan of the Vegas Golden Knights, a love she shared with her family and friends during game nights.
Mercedes was a occasional reader, with 'The Entourage Handbook' among her favorite books. Her love for entertainment extended to movies; her favorites included 'Maleficent', 'Wicked', and the 'John Wick' series. She also greatly enjoyed attending rock concerts and was known for her hospitality, often socializing and hosting parties.
She also loved to travel, to Panama, Hawaii, Santa Barbara, and Disneyland among her favorite vacation spots. Locally, you could find Mercedes enjoying a meal at Fleming's, Mon Ami Gabi, or Texas De Brazil.
Mercedes’s memorial service will be held on April 3, 2026, at 11:00 AM at the Affordable Cremation & Burial Service at 2127 W Charleston Blvd 89102.
