Mercedes Electra Kohlhardt died unexpectedly Tuesday, July 28, 2020 at the age of 21. She was born April 19, 1999 in Madison, Wisconsin, daughter of Kasey (Reible) Kohlhardt and Matt Kohlhardt.

Mercedes attended Sun Prairie High School, where she was a competitive co-ed cheerleader for three years. As a high schooler, she was a spokesmodel for her Class of 2017. Mercedes had a smile and laugh that would light up any room.

Mercedes was a senior college student at UW-Eau Claire, where she was studying geography. She enjoyed doing anything in nature and dreamed of becoming a park ranger in one of our National Parks. She loved the planet and the environment.

Mercedes, often called Merc, Meems, and Meme by her family and friends, was the type of person who would tell it like it is to her friends and did not hold back. Mercedes stood up for what she believed in and would not back down.

Mercedes lost her life in a sudden tragedy at Clear Lake State Park Beach Area in Iowa, where she went under the wheels of a tractor. Her bright soul will be missed by her family and friends.

The public may visit the family, drive-through style from the comfort and safety of their car, at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL AND CREMATION CARE, 5203 Monona Drive, Madison, from 3 p.m. until 5 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 14, 2020.
