Meng Chen's obituary
August 30th, 1977 - August 27th, 2025
Meng Chen was born on August 30th, 1977, in Shandong, China. He received a PhD from Wayne State University in Michigan. Previously, he worked at the University of Toledo, Eastern Michigan University, and as a Director of Institutional Research at the University of Central Missouri, before finally working as the Director of IR at Binghamton University SUNY. Wherever he was, he always made sure he guided his team, creating opportunities for them to grow.
Meng was a devoted father, son, brother, and friend. He came over to America with his loving wife, Hongzhi Ma, and was a hardworking father to two children, Tony and Karen. He had the strongest and kindest heart, and dedicated it entirely to loving, supporting, and guiding his family. He loved walking his two dogs, Mazie and Storm, every night after dinner, and when he found time, he would weightlift, hike various mountains, and fish with friends. At home, he loved listening to 90s Chinese rock, cooking fancy meals, and enjoying sweet pastries. He was cherished by all who knew him.
Meng will be remembered for his compassion, his resilience, and his dedication to making sure those around him were cared for. His legacy of kindness, wisdom, and strength will hold in our hearts forever.
