Melvin's obituary

Melvin L Willis was born on January 16, 1931 to Earl S Willis and Lois Ann Coatney in Beatrice Nebraska. Melvin was baptized on March 25th, 1945 in his home town of Nebraska. Melvin enlisted in the US Army at the age of 17. He proudly served our Country as a medical technician in Camp McCoy Wisconsin, Ft Sam Houston, TX and in Germany before being Honorably Discharged on May 12th, 1952. Following his service in the Army Melvin followed his heart and dreams and became a well known photographer for Time Warner Pictures in Sunny California. He continued his journey as a photographer before retiring and returning to Abilene Texas where his father resided. Melvin spent the remainder of his time walking anywhere his heard desired and making several friends along the way. Melvin sure knew how to make his friends laugh and would light up any room he entered. Please know that this is not goodbye Melvin this is see you later.
Melvin in preceded in death by his father Earl Willis of Abilene, TX and his mother Lois Coatney Willis of Beatrice, NE. Surviving Melvin is one sister Carol Williams of Mexico, one nephew Kevin Leech and wife Angela of Abilene, TX one great nephew Aubrey of Abilene, TX, Special friend Katrina Brown of Abilene, TX, Megan Kelley and husband Andrew Kelley of Abilene, TX, Dexter John of Abilene, TX, The office staff of The Edge Apartments and his Whataburger family on East Hwy 80.
Funeral arrangements are pending with Girdner Funeral Home.
