Terry Family, my sincere condolences. Losing someone you love is never easy, and it’s even harder when their life feels cut short.

The Bible gives us real comfort at John 11:11, Jesus compares death to a peaceful sleep, and Jehovah promises to wake our loved ones again. Acts 24:15 reminds us of that beautiful hope of the resurrection. May this hope give you comfort and strength as you look forward to seeing Melvin again.

Just a thing that made my day:

I received a portion of ashes and small urns in the mail. As I walked downstairs to my front door, I wasn’t feeling well so I was slow to process the significance of the items in the postal worker’s arms. He gingerly handed me the heavier than expected package and produced a bouquet of flowers. It didn’t register until he said, “We wanted to offer our condolences and I’m very sorry for your loss.”

I don’t think I’ll never forget that simple, thoughtful, and wholly unexpected, and frankly, unnecessary gesture.

A gem of a memory in a time of imbalance.

I was Sadden when I heard the news of Melvin's passing. A well hearted and caring person, who would brighten a room when he entered. Surely a lost to all who knew him. You are missed my friend.

My sincere condolences to my cousins and family of Melvin Terry. He will surely be missed at the many family reunions he attended. He was our cameraman. Taking group pictures and making family memories for us to cherish forever. He is a warm loving cousin that will be missed. He had a smile that would melt one’s heart. May he rest in eternal peace. Love you Melvin, Your cousin Shirley Alfred Moore
