Melody's obituary

Melody Ann Carle of Anchorage, AK, passed away peacefully in her home in Arizona on December 14, 2021 surrounded by family after a long and courageous battle with breast cancer.

Dee Dee was born in Cleveland, Ohio on August 6, 1957 to Rollo Thomas Wright and Viola Katherine Marler. In 1968 their family moved to Phoenix, Arizona and Dee Dee graduated from South Mountain High School in 1975.

In 1977 Dee Dee tagged along with a friend for “the adventure of a lifetime” – a road trip from Arizona to Alaska. It was in Fairbanks, Alaska that she met David Carle. What started out as a sweet summer romance ultimately turned into a lifelong partnership with David and Dee Dee marrying in 1985 and having two wonderful sons, Brandon and Garon. In 1985 the family moved to Anchorage and Dee Dee thought this was good as it was a southerly move.

Dee Dee worked for many companies over the years to include Westmark Hotels, Natchiq, Inc. , Houston Contracting, Global Power & Communications, Alaska Airlines, Salon Davinci, Solid Waste Services, Redi Electric and Lowe’s. She enjoyed gardening, traveling, country music, shoes, painting, In-N-Out Burger®, Banana Splits and was always ready to try something new, including zip lining, bungee jumping and skydiving as she was fearless! She loved working on home improvement projects and was capable of just about any DIY project you could imagine. Dee Dee loved animals and would stop at nothing to help an animal in need. It wouldn’t be a surprise if you came home at the end of the day to find that she rescued a stray dog and knocked down an interior wall, all in one afternoon! She was a great cook and was known for her famous banana pudding.

Dee Dee had many talents and interests but her priority was always family. She was about unconditional love, mending family ties and forgiveness. She made the world a better place on her earthly mission and touched a lot of people’s lives for the better. She could always make you smile by her wise words, jokes and just plain silliness. Dee Dee absolutely loved being a mother though anyone who knew her would agree that she found the most joy when she became a grandmother. She was the best “Mimi” and she was so very good at it. We will love and miss her always. Until we meet again! “Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted.”( Matthew 5:4 ).

Dee Dee was preceded in death by her father, Rollo “Buddy” Wright, her mother, Viola “Kathy” Murphy, and her sister, Beverly Biondi.

She is survived by her beloved husband Henry David Carle, her sons Brandon (Meshel) Carle, Garon (Caprice) Carle, her 7 dearest grandchildren, Henry, Oliver, Olivia, Caroline, Claire, Harper Ann and Benjamin, her sister Madge (Klint) Casey, brothers Randy (Jackie) Wright and Cliff (Jennifer) Wright, nephew Jacob Wright, nieces Gianna Wright, Angel Biondi-Brookins (Chad) and half-sister Kathleen Powell.
