Janie's obituary

Melissa "Janie" Brown (Behne), 65, of Dale, Texas, passed away on September 19, 2022 after a lengthy battle with various medical difficulties.

Janie was born on November 27, 1956 to Bob and Beverly Behne in Monahans, Texas. Janie was a Jack of all trades, but most memorably, she was a mother to her only son Justin. She spent many years as an in home caregiver, loving and raising many other children, while caring for her own son. Janie was able to fix her own cars, repair all household anomalies, and was the most hilariously sarcastic person you will ever meet. Janie spent her later years adoring her many pets (she is preceded in death by her beloved "Sissy" and "Champagne"), most recently her chihuahua Sugar, and spending all her available time with her three grandsons.  Janie was fierce with her love, giving all her energy to her family and loved ones.  Janie was predeceased by her grandfather, John Coy, grandmother, Zula Coy, grandfather, Delbert (DH) Behne, grandmother, Lillian Behne, father, Bob Behne, mother, Beverly Behne, and sister, Belinda Ligon. She is survived by her son, Justin Leach (wife Kristina Leach, grandsons, Mason Barrada, Kaden Barrada, and Ryan Barrada), sister, Susan Urban, and brother, Henry Behne (wife, Karol Behne), nieces Kathy Ligon, Wendy Stroda, and Caitlin Riley, nephews Bobby Behne and Austin Henrichsen.
