Melissa was my daughter for just a little while.I am so glad that I was able to keep in contact the last while. We had some good times doing things together. I met her when she was 10 years old. I will miss her. She could be funny and loved to play tricks on her dad and I. One time she and my granddaughter did her dad's and my hair in curlers.  She also did makeup for me. It came out  as quite a different look. I love you and miss you baby girl. You were always loved by me. You will always be remembered.

In Loving Memory of Melissa

Melissa was the kind of person whose presence lingered long after she left the room. She didn’t need to be loud to be felt—her warmth, her compassion, and her quiet strength spoke for her. She carried kindness with her everywhere she went, offering it freely, even when life asked more of her than seemed fair.

Melissa knew struggle, but she never let it define her. Instead, she transformed hardship into empathy, pain into understanding. She had a remarkable way of seeing people—not just for who they were, but for who they could become. When someone felt unseen or unheard, Melissa noticed. When someone needed comfort, she gave it without hesitation.

She loved deeply. Whether as a daughter, partner, friend, or soul sister, Melissa gave her heart fully. Her love was steady and loyal, the kind that didn’t disappear in difficult moments. She showed up when it mattered most, often placing others’ needs before her own.

Melissa also carried resilience that inspired everyone around her. Even during her hardest days, she found ways to be gentle, hopeful, and grateful. Her strength wasn’t about never breaking—it was about continuing to love, care, and believe, even when the weight was heavy.

Though her time with us feels far too short, Melissa’s impact is lasting. She leaves behind memories that feel like warmth on a cold day—conversations, laughter, shared silences, and moments of understanding that words cannot fully capture.

Today, we honor Melissa not only in grief, but in gratitude. Gratitude for her life, her love, and the way she made the world softer simply by being in it. She will live on in the stories we tell, the love we carry forward, and the compassion she taught us through her example.

Melissa will always be remembered, deeply loved, and never forgotten.
