Sue's obituary
Melinda Sue (Patrick) Zeeb passed away in Pine, Colorado, on Wednesday, November 8th, 2023, after an extended battle with cancer.
Always preferring to be called Sue, she was born in Steubenville, Ohio. She cherished her upbringing in the small town of Jewett, Ohio. She spoke often of dear memories of family, friends, and neighbors, as many lovely memories were never forgotten. Sue graduated from Kent State University, where she met Pete. Soon after graduating, they were married and eventually moved to Colorado in 1982. While raising their three children, Sue always had a passion for helping other children. She did this through providing childcare, tutoring, teaching, leading church youth groups, and hosting multiple foreign exchange students. Her home was always open to others. In 2004, she earned her Master’s degree in Curriculum and Technology to pursue excellence in education through adapting curriculum to varied learning styles. It was natural for her to maintain lifelong friendships with her students and fellow educators. Working to see a child succeed was her passion, but her greatest pleasures were always being with family and friends. Sue loved life and, unfortunately, fought through many health challenges but her faith in Jesus Christ was core to her beliefs, and she often shared her faith with family and friends, new and old.
She is survived by her husband Pete of Pine, Colorado, Children- Erich (Kara), Cassandra (Alex), and Joshua (Kelly), two beloved grandsons, and brother Richard (Beth). She is preceded in death by her parents Richard Patrick and Maxine Patton, and sister MaryBeth Ruthem.
A Celebration of Life has been scheduled for 10:00 AM on December 9th at the Platte Canyon Community Church in Bailey, Colorado.
