I met Melinda through the St. Ann's AIDS Ministry many a year ago. She did anything and everything she could do. I was crushed to hear of her death in such a senseless way. I am so sorry for Stan, Lisa and her husband and children, and all her friends and family. At 73, she was the most energetic person I knew! (In later years via Facebook). I remember Melinda taking Patti , an elderly woman with AIDS, to the doctor with me. When we got back to the nursing home Melinda immediately cleaned up Patti without protection! She wasn't going to wait for the aides to show up! Melinda also got close to Cheryl, a woman with AIDS in prison. When Cheryl got transferred to Macon GA, Melinda drove down there on one Thanksgiving and spent the day with her. Wow. Not only that, Melinda drove to Cheryl in Gainesville FL when she got released and helped her set up her apartment, even throwing together a meal for her! One memory, Melinda driving a group of us volunteers and friends to Pat McEvoy's funeral from the same church Melinda will have her Mass at to the same cemetery she will be interned at! If I still lived in GA I would be there. We walked with an angel for sure. God be with you all.

I have known Melinda for over 20 years. She has been an amazing friend to Mustard Seed Communities. Melinda had a warm, caring spirit, and was very concerned about the plight of the underserved. She was a friend to our staff and children, and was highly tuned in to the needs of both populations.
We at Mustrd seed were the recipients of her unbridled generosity. She undertook numerous projects for Jerusalem Children’s home, and she gave without counting the cost.
She will truly be missed by our staff and residence, particularly Claude, of whom she was very fond.
This is a huge blow to our community because we have lost one who was an exceptional human being, but we know that God knows best.
Our deepest sympathy goes to her family and loved ones
Rest in peace, my friend.

Sending my deepest sympathies to Lisa and her family. Such a sudden shocking devastating loss! Although I knew her casually at Desert Sun for many years, I wish I had known her better. She seems like an amazing person.

Stan and Lisa and family, we are sending our deepest condolences to you as we feel the heartache of losing Melinda. We are still in disbelief. Melinda was one of our dearest friends. The five of us first met on the tennis courts in our neighborhood in Marietta. Our friendship deepened over the last 20 years and we have continued to meet up yearly even though we now live many miles apart. Our memories are full of laughter and connection. We have lost one of our most vibrant friends who brought out the best in all of us. Bobbie, Fran, Gretchen and Sue.

I’ve known Melinda for decades through my friendship with Stan. I adored, and respected Melinda. Spunky, funny, talented, athletic, great Mother and Wife, energizer Bunny are some of my observations of her. I’m shocked and saddened at the loss of her, and I wish love to Stan and the family who have to be going through a horrible time. Melinda will always be remembered with nothing but fondness by me and my family. With deep sadness,
Bob Martin
