Melanie's obituary

Melanie Joy Johnson, age 43, passed away on January 6, 2019. She was a wonderful wife to Shane Anderson, mother to Chloe, Cole, and Corbin, daughter to Diane Johnson-Holler, sister to Greg and Maria Johnson and CJ and Travis Wise, sister in law to Jessi and Mark Nelson, aunt to Zack, Amanda, Kaden, Michael, Kianna, EmmaJoy, and Wesley, and adopted aunt to Maddy, Jack, Ryan, and Kallie. She grew up in Lynnwood, Washington and went to school at Hilltop Elementary, Alderwood Middle School, and Lynnwood High School. She loved school and school activities. Until her passing, she kept in touch with all of her friends and teachers. She was always there to lend an ear. She went to Western Washington University and studied biology for her undergraduate degree. She also met her husband there while working her way through school at Red Robin. Melanie moved to Oregon after she graduated from Western and went to Oregon Health Science University to earn her Masters to become a physician assistant. Not one to shy from challenges, she was married on June 14th, 2002 in the middle of graduate school. She had her first child, Chloe in Oregon. After graduating and working in Oregon She moved to Denver, Colorado, where she had her other two children Cole and Corbin. She balanced working in the ER and staying home raising kids in Denver. In 2016 she and her family moved to Austin, Texas. Every where that Melanie went she made friends and she kept those friends with her as she moved from state to state. She loved her family the most but she also loved wine, traveling, food, wine, baking, beauty products, jewelry, her dogs, her friends, wine with friends, creating, and learning. She spent her life in service to others and will be greatly missed. In 2017 she traveled with to Kenya with KenyaRelief.org to provide medical services to a small village. Melanie had a sparkle in her eyes and a beautiful smile that would warm your heart. She loved fiercely and would do anything for anyone in her world. She was beloved by all.
