Melanie's obituary
Melanie Denise Earnhardt Holtzclaw, 51, of Winston-Salem, North Carolina, passed away at Forsyth Memorial Hospital on November 5th, 2025. Melanie devoted her life to her children and education. She was an Appalachain State University graduate, followed by 3 masters degrees from UNCG. Melanie dedicated herself to helping children and families with the highest of needs. She spent most of her career as an Exceptional Children's Case Worker for WS/FCS. She was currently tutoring children whom she loved dearly. Most of all, Melanie loved her family, or "bubble" as she would always say, more than words could ever describe. She devoted her life to loving and caring for all of us.
Melanie is survived by her husband, Nathan Brett Holtzclaw; her daughter, Madyson Chase Holtzclaw; her stepdaughters, Elizabeth Riley Holtzclaw-Trahan (son-in-law, Taylor Brooks Trahan) and Gabrielle Elise Holtzclaw; her brother, Jason Franklin Earnhardt, and sister-in-law, Melissa Riddle; her niece, Allyson Payton Earnhardt (son-in-law Austin Tanner Moore), and nephews, Joshua Franklin Earnhardt and Jaxon Franklin Earnhardt; and her two favorite little ones, her great nieces, Laikyn Marie Moore and Lorelei Jean Moore.
A celebration of life will be held on November 22nd at Medaloni Cellars, 9125 Shallowford Rd, Lewisville, NC 27023 at 6:30 pm. The eulogy will begin at 7:00 pm and we will be celebrating with catered food, music, drinks, and most importantly all of our loved ones.
We would love for all that attend to spend your night with us sharing memories about Melanie. We encourage everyone in attendance to please wear color (no black) or one of her favorite colors - purple, blue, and green. We will have an open mic for anyone who would like to share a few words or request a song.
Melanie wanted us to throw her a party when her time came, so lets honor her the way she lived and loved! We look forward to seeing you all.
