Melanie's obituary
Melanie Sandra Higgins, 35, of Fall River, formerly of Attleboro, passed away on November 27, 2025, after a brief illness. She was surrounded, as always, by a family who loved her deeply and never stopped seeing the beautiful light she carried.
Melanie was a soft presence in a world that is not always gentle with soft souls. Those who knew her best understood that her tenderness was her greatest strength, even when life asked her to grow protective around it. Beneath every version life placed upon her, her light remained, and her family never stopped seeing it.
As a child, Melanie’s joy lived in simple, sacred places: playing hide and seek, swimming in Nana and Papa’s pool, and summers in Marshfield with Auntie Annie, making homemade movies with Dallas and Peyton, laughing with cousins during long games of charades- choosing the same character, every single time, and laughing like it was new. She carried a mischievous grin, a gentle heart, and a quiet warmth that drew people in. She will always be remembered fondly as that girl: full of laughter, love, and warmth.
As an adult, Melanie loved the the beach, and later found happiness roller skating with her son. Her son was her pride and joy. She loved him fiercely and showed up for him in every way she could. She was a hard worker and put her all in every job she had.
Melanie is survived by her son Brady Frederick Bolton; her mother, Sandra Higgins of Fall River; her father and stepmother, Robert and Michelle Higgins of Norton; her siblings Dallas Higgins of Providence, Peyton Higgins of Alabama, Trevor McDonald of Maine, and Felicia McKinney of Attleboro; along with many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends who loved her deeply.
