Megan's obituary

It is with deep sorrow that the family of Megan Elizabeth Williamson, age 39, announces her passing. She was born on January 3, 1984, and died on October 19, 2023. Anacortes was her hometown.

Megan was deeply loved. She had many passions: animals (especially horses and dogs), art, theater, skiing, snowboarding, running, and biking. She was a powerful athlete. She loved music, particularly live music, and dancing. She had a beaming, bright smile, and her sparkly blue eyes danced. She cared for others deeply.

She is survived by her daughter, Paige. She was the love of her life.

She is also survived by her brother Evan, her sister Jenna (Andrew), and her parents, Richard and Beth. She leaves a niece Suvi, a nephew Scott, aunts Betsy, Michelle, Polly (Nene), and "Auntie" Lisa, and uncle Topher (Christian), as well as cousins Eric, Tom, Asa, and Gabe and their families.

She was preceded in death by her aunts Emily and Jenny, her cousin Cory Brown, her deeply loving grandmother Betty, her grandfather Max, whom she did not have the pleasure of knowing, and her grandparents Marty and Jud.

Megan lived with intensity and passion. She left a lasting impression on those she met. She loved big and she loved fiercely, which Brené Brown describes as "to believe in something with your full heart, to celebrate a fleeting moment in time, to fully engage in a life that doesn't come with guarantees."

A celebration of Megan's life will be this coming summer. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory can be made to the Anacortes Family Center in Anacortes, Washington.
