What Happened to Megan Trussell?
They ruled it a suicide. But the facts say otherwise.

Megan was 18 — bright, funny, deeply loved. She had no history of depression, suicidal thoughts, or self-harm.

She was found near a freezing creek in Boulder, Colorado. Cause of death: hypothermia. But the manner of death was ruled suicide, based on Adderall in her system.

Here’s what Boulder County is not telling you and doesn't want you to know:

▪️ Her blood showed 1,900 ng/mL of amphetamine, which is high, but not lethal for someone with four years of prescribed use.
️▪️ Her stomach and esophagus combined held 200 mL of substance with a concentration of 1.7 mg/mL — equal to 850 mg of amphetamine, or about 34 Adderall XR 25 mg capsules.
⚠️ But that amount of powder would only take up 10–17 mL of volume without the capsule casings. This means over 90% of what was in her body was something else.
▪️ Yet the rest of the material wasn’t tested. The coroner admitted they never test beyond toxicology — no food content, no excipients, no foreign substances.
▪️ The mass was photographed and a small sample was collected — but the entire material was not preserved.
🚫 The material found in her esophagus was not specifically tested to determine ingestion (was it going down or coming back up) and timeline
🚫 The rape kit and trace evidence were never submitted.
🚫 The coroner refused to order a TotalTox screen for the remaining blood sample — a test that could detect hundreds of substances including new drugs that include possible sedatives, date-rape drugs, or poisoning agents.

And then there’s the scene:

Megan was missing her right shoe, but the sock on that foot was torn at the heel and clean, showing no signs of walking barefoot through rugged terrain.

Her jacket was ripped at the sleeve.

Her purse and phone were not with her body, and BCSO did not tell the family about the missing belongings until February 25th—10 days after her body was found.

Her purse was found nearly a month later, 5 miles away, strap ripped off, with her empty Adderall XR bottle still inside.

A friend of the family discovered that her phone was sold to an EcoATM by an unhoused man after her death.

💔 Megan also had:

Deep scalp hemorrhaging

Facial bruises and chipped teeth

Linear abrasions on the top of her hands and right foot (suggesting she may have been dragged)

Fingertip lacerations (possibly defensive)

Hemorrhaging in her esophagus — a possible sign of forced ingestion or vomiting

This wasn’t just a tragedy — it was an incomplete investigation. Megan died of hypothermia before any of the the Adderall XR could be absorbed — and yet they used that presence alone to rule it a suicide. The entire contents of her full prescription of Adderall XR, minus the gel casings were found intact in her stomach and esophagus mixed with some other unknown substance that did not show up on the latest toxicology screening. This means Megan died immediately after ingesting the capsule contents or they were placed into her body after death.

If someone dies by suicide using a firearm, we expect to find the weapon nearby. So where is the bottle? Where is the liquid? Where is the evidence?
