Michelle's obituary
Michelle Dawn Phillips, born on July 26, 1970, passed away on October 12, 2024, in Baltimore, Maryland. Known for her kindness and boundless energy, Michelle was a beacon of warmth in her community, always keeping her door open to welcome another friend or neighbor to her table.
Michelle graduated from Washington High in Fredrick, Maryland and furthered her education at Howard University. She dedicated almost three decades of her career to serving as a paralegal for the United States government, a role she held from 1993 until her retirement in 2022 due to health reasons. Beyond her professional life, Michelle was renowned in her community as the best cook around, often bringing people together with her delicious meals.
She leaves behind a loving family: sons Dwayne (Mookie) Williams and Isaiah (BabyFace) Sorrell; daughter Samantha Williams; sister Rachel Howard; brothers Charlie (Chip) and Sebastian (Skinny) Phillips; and seven cherished grandchildren. Michelle was preceded in death by her parents, Lester and Juanita Phillips, and her brother Darren (Tiny) Phillips.
A service to celebrate Michelle’s life will be held at The New Light Church, 200 S Highland Ave, Baltimore, MD 21224, on October 26th, 2024, starting at 11 am. Michelle’s legacy of kindness and community will be remembered and cherished by all who knew her.
