McKenzie's obituary

McKenzie KayLyn Lane, 31, of Burleson, Tx. passed unexpectedly on June, 21 2022. This was a shock and devastation to the family, as one could imagine. Her presence will be sorely missed and her loss is deeply felt.

McKenzie was a vivacious and bright, free-spirited, outgoing personality. She was someone who was determined and was always willing to go after what she wanted in life.

Born on October 9th, 1990. McKenzie always kept those around her on their toes. McKenzie was a very active child and teenager and participated in many sports and activities before settling on competition cheer. She was a naturally loud, and cheerful girl with spirit for days. McKenzie graduated from LCA and went to Job Corps in San Antonio, Tx., where she studied Security and Medical Assisting. McKenzie became a certified medical assistant, however that was not her dream. McKenzie went on to develop her own small business when she moved to Colorado and began her own grow of cannabis. McKenzie was a horticultural researcher and consultant with a specialty in cannabinoids. McKenzie had a curiosity for life and was always open to learn new things and take on new challenges. McKenzie volunteered at her local Natural Wildlife Center in Colorado, where she especially loved the birds, but was excited to work with all of Colorado’s endemic species. McKenzie was passionate about all that she believed in and she did nothing half way. McKenzie loved going on hikes with her dogs, tending to her garden, spending time on the river, and playing disc golf. McKenzie was a loving aunt to her nieces and nephews, and was known to drop a present in the mail now and again. McKenzie had 4 fur babies that she would consider her children, Puffin, Spectre, Nina, and Zaza, that she loved beyond words.

McKenzie is survived by her husband Dammon Rose, of Grand Junction, Colorado. McKenzie is also survived by her parents, Jonathan and Tanya Lane, Siblings, Ashlin Lane, Noah Lane, Jonathan Lane Jr. and wife, Abbigail Lane, numerous nieces and nephews and extended family members. A celebration of life will be held at the Burleson Church of Christ at 1150 NW John Jones Dr, Burleson, TX 76028, on July 2nd, at 9:30 AM in the community room.  Flowers, plants or cards, can be sent to 429 NW Lorna St. Burleson, Tx. 76028, prior to July 2nd, so they can be taken to the celebration.
