Dan was groomed with love by a beautiful union with Margaret Hines in 1989. An incredibly strong bond attracted them, and they became life partners, providing a solid foundation to their family. Their bond left a beacon of true love for their children to follow.
The couple was blessed with two children, Hannah Darby and James Hines. Dan's compassion, kindness and values were reflected in his children. He also held a special bond with his brother, Charles (Chuck) Hines. Dan's family extended beyond his immediate family members, including Whitney, Jason, Travis and Cathy Hines, Jim, Kim, Donna Corbin, Corinna, Alison, and Emily Corbin and Todd Rice. He was an adored grandfather to Jonathan Darby. Dan's family was his strength and joy.
Known for his quiet and calming presence, Dan had an incredible sense of humor that could lighten up any room. He was a loving, generous, and kind soul who believed in the mantra, "We are all on this journey together, and it is never ever hard to be kind." This sentiment was reflected in his interactions with everyone he crossed paths with.
Among his many passions, Dan's love for genealogy and spending quality time with his family and dogs were most dear. He was an avid fan of the Orioles and enjoyed indulging in his favorite treats, Hershey bars, and hamburgers. A voracious reader, his preferred genre was historical books, through which he traveled to myriad places and times.
Dan leaves behind an enduring legacy of love and kindness. His life was a testament to the power of love, resilience, and generosity. His children, whom he raised with a great sense of responsibility, reflect his strong and loving character. His absence leaves a void in our lives, but we are eternally grateful to have been a part of his journey. His love, teachings, and memories will continue to enrich our lives.
We mourn his loss, but we celebrate his life and thank God for the time we spent with this amazing man. His kindness and love will continue to inspire us and guide us. We will carry his memory in our hearts forever.
