Maxine's obituary
Maxine Theresa Pogorsky
Maxine Theresa Pogorsky, a vibrant, sassy, and deeply loving soul, passed away peacefully, leaving behind a legacy of humor, loyalty, and unwavering love. Born on October 3, 1950, in East New York, Brooklyn, she was the cherished daughter of Beverly Rita Nero and Edward Frank Pogorsky.
Maxine attended Franklin K. Lane High School in Brooklyn before pursuing her studies at Kingsborough Community College in Coney Island. It was during her time at Kingsborough that she met Milton Bradley Jr., with whom she would share many milestones in life as they built and raised their family together.
In the early 1970s, Maxine and Milton moved to San Francisco, living in Garberville and Whitehorn, where she found peace and joy among the beauty of the Redwoods and welcomed her first child. In 1976, the family returned to Brooklyn, and by 1981, they moved to upstate New York to follow Milton’s ministry work.
Maxine’s love for animals inspired her to study veterinary science during her time in New York, but her greatest pride and joy were always her five children—Enoch Bradley, Elisha Bradley, Faith Bradley, Elizabeth Bradley, and Joshua Bradley—and her beloved grandchildren, Ileena McCoy, Kiera McCoy, Gideon Bradley, and Ava Bradley. She often spoke about how proud she was of her children and grandchildren, who were the light of her life.
In her later years, Maxine moved to Arizona, embracing the serene beauty of the desert while continuing to share her humor and love with those around her. Known for her sassy nature, her undying loyalty, and her ability to make everyone laugh, she was truly one of a kind. Maxine never missed an opportunity to remind the world that she couldn’t be messed with because she was from Brooklyn. Her quirky humor and off-color jokes often left everyone laughing, and her unique ability to turn life’s challenges into funny stories made her unforgettable.
Maxine was preceded in death by her parents, Beverly and Edward, as well as her beloved brothers, Dennis Pogorsky and Howard Pogorsky. She is survived by her five children, her four grandchildren, and countless friends and loved ones who were touched by her unwavering love and sass.
Maxine will be remembered for her vibrant spirit, her loyalty to those she loved, and her ability to bring laughter and joy to everyone around her. She was deeply loved and will remain forever in the hearts of her family and friends.
