Annette joined Betty for her first visit to Maxine's gravesite, September 26, 2022, 12:30 p.m. We read Maxine's favorite verse: Psalm 46:10, "Be still and know that I am God. I will be exalted among the nations. I will be exalted in the earth!" We also read from I Corinthians 15:50-57, "I tell you this, brothers: flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God, nor does the perishable inherit the imperishable. Behold! I tell you a mystery. We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised imperishable, and we shall be changed. For this perishable body must put on the imperishable, and this mortal body must put on immortality. When the perishable puts on the imperishable, and the mortal puts on immortality, then shall come to pass the saying that is written: "Death is swallowed up in victory." "O death, where is your victory? O death, where is your sting?" The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law. But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ."

Maxine's heirs (her cousins from Alabama) chose to have Maxine buried in Virginia. Maxine's remains were respectfully interred on August 3, 2022 under the careful attention of Funeral Home Director, Gary Maxwell.

 My sincerest condolences for you at this time. You have my deepest sympathy and unwavering support. Wishing you peace, comfort, courage, and lots of love at this time of sorrow. My heart goes out to you at this difficult time.

Maxine was our neighbor and will be greatly missed.  She always had a smile on her face and was very kind to our children.  May she rest in peace with her husband. Our condolences to her family.
