Max's obituary

Max was born on May 2, 1968, in Oakland, CA to George and Julia Hudson. The family moved to Fremont when he was five years old where he spent his childhood with his younger brother, Eugene. He was married to Debbie Mattingly in 1993 and had 3 sons (Kyle '97, Tyler '99, and Ryan '03).

Max always had a passion for youth. He began serving in ministry right out of college and later became a youth pastor. In addition to leading weekend ministries, he was an athletic director and high school basketball coach. He loved reminiscing about the youth conferences he ran with thousands of teens over the years and the basketball teams he coached. At the age of 29, Max became a lead pastor at a church he founded on Morgan Hill.

Having graduated from a Christian school, he knew firsthand the impact that Christian education can have on students. He and Debbie founded Legacy Christian School in 2008 and have served hundreds of families over the last 15 years.

Some of his passions included basketball, cars, landscape design, cycling, and time with his family.

He is survived by his wife, Debbie; his sons Kyle, Tyler, and Ryan; his brother, Eugene Hudson (Iliana, nephew Joaquin, niece Julia); his Dad, George Hudson (Teresa); and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mom, Julia Ramirez Hudson.

Following the funeral, the graveside service will be held at Cedar Lawn Cemetery, 48800 Warm Springs Blvd in Fremont.
