Butch's obituary

Butch, hailing from Lowell, MA, passed peacefully in the company of his loving and loyal wife of 50 years, Diane M (Lacoy) Savard, on Thursday, in his Florida home.

He is survived by his daughter, Stacy Savard, and son, André Savard and fiancé Danielle Gilliam. He also had a great love for his nine grandchildren, Joshua and his wife Erica, Warren, Mariah, Gabriella, Brett, Jordan, Keira, Lucas, and Chloe. He is also survived by his sister, Rose Thompson and her late husband Bill Thompson, sister Jane Tibbets and her husband Ed Tibbets, his stepbrother, David Savard, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his closest friends, Bobby and Kathy Lavigne, of 58 years.

He is predeceased by his father, Maurice Savard, his mother, Rita Cadorette (Thuot), his sister, Rita (Snook) Hood, and his brother, Dennis Savard.

Butch was a hardworking, loving, caring, and leading man, to not only his family, but his community as well. As a baseball coach for over 20 years, he inspired the youth entrusted to him to be the best versions of themselves. He devoted a life of love to his family and friends, and would give his last dime to anyone in need. He honed a love for fishing, was a sports fanatic, and would light up a room with his quick whit and banter.

He never found a need to soften the blow when he had something to say and you needed to hear it. In his spare time, he enjoyed Wednesday Nights at Old Town in Kissimmee, Doo Wop, The Dukes of Harmony, Connie Francis, and card nights with his guys. Kristin, his home care nurse, was a wonderful light in his eyes, and helped him through his final time on Earth. The family is eternally grateful for her love and support in such a trying time.

Anyone who knew Butch, knew that he had a rough exterior. He never knew a stranger, and would never be afraid of lifting a finger for a stranger. He had a fingerprint on countless lives, and molded relationships with most anyone he met.

Death is only dying when someone’s legacy doesn’t live on. Butch left an incredible legacy to his family and friends, with memories, love, and strength to carry on. He is an incredible example of how to do it HIS WAY.

Per his wishes, there will be no services. Please hold his family and friends in prayer during this time of grieving.
