Everything that Maureen did was an act of kindness. She loved to have her friends around her and was concerned about each one of them. If you got invited to a party or Lenmar Drive you knew you were on A list. She gave every guest a present for Christmas and birthday. We would tell her to please stop but she wouldn’t hear of it. She said it was something she wanted to do. I never met a person like Maureen in my life. It is as if she lived for others.I know that she was happy and I know that Pat was the love of her life, they were like peanut butter and jelly. We will all miss her dearly.
The easy thing is to find times that were fun with Maureen, Pat, and the kids. There was hardly a month that passed that some theme event was not taking taking place at the Maroney's. Always good food, good friends and good times. Maureen made all the holidays special and with her boundless energy the house would be themed from the driveway to the ceiling. Christmas, regardless of how many invitees were there, everyone left with a gift. She would always provide a gift for my daughter who often did not join us. Everyday and every event was lived to the fullest. In my professional lifeI have come in contact with literally thousands of people who were customers over the 50 years I worked in hospitality. Some did become personal friends but none of them shared the closeness that was shared with Maureen. I could write about hikes on the Wissahickon, concerts, movies, family events and the joys and sorrows that come with the human condition. But the thing that comes to my mind at this moment was simply something that appeared mundane but had a lasting impression. Like all of you I get various emails with varying degrees of humor. I got one that I would wager all of you have seen in some regard. It was a series of photos of shoppers at Walmart. They were in what would easily be described as bizarre outfits with various body parts in display. I was at the Maroney's and I shared it with Maureen. She went through each photo, she did not laugh, her eyes teared up, and she said to me that she felt so bad for these poor souls. Nothing more was said but I have often thought back on that moment and was embarrassed for my lack of compassion . I still get those Walmart emails but I tend to look at them with a different eye. I realize at those moments that knowing Maureen made me a better person. I will never forget her and her extraordinary kindness and generosity.

All the ladies spend on the pool deck under the canopy talking for hours. Maureen was always concerned about everyone’s health and offering to help if she could. Our friendships were bonded at that table. Such pleasant memories.❤️

So very sorry to hear of Maureen’s passing, we just heard today. Will always remember Maureen’s vibrant
personality and smile. So glad that we were able to spend some happy times together in years past. Our thoughts and prayers go out to Pat and family.
Love, Ed & Teresa Henry
