Maureen cared deeply about Austin and its people. She devoted herself to improving the quality of life in the City, through improvements and access to transportation, among many other things. Maureen offered me an opportunity to be part of that effort. I am forever grateful!
A favorite memory of my mother - Mrs. Schreuer to the Mccoy children.
Of course, it is a favorite of mine too--
Maureen, a sports enthusiast with her natural leadership skills - rallied the neighborhood children for a ball game at our local elementary school - Cabrillo Elementary. I recall Maureen attending there in the 6th grade, and I was in the same class as Michael. Perhaps she recognized she was short a few positions and recruited my mother (a german lady in her early 30s) or just decided to welcome Mrs. Schreuer to join. The memory is- of Maureen, with all her heart instructing Mrs. Schreuer how to hold the bat and swing. Well, she did a great job of coaching or pitching the ball over the plate, but Mrs. Schreuer hit the ball. All of us were surprised, but Maureen's cheering made this a wonderful memory-- "Run, Mrs. Schreuer, Run." What happened after that is a blur to my mom and me, but she recalls being very surprised when she hit the ball and remembers Maureen's enthusiasm with fondness! Maureen will remain in our hearts forever!
Maureen was such a strong dynamic Woman. Marilyn talked about her & their relationship when she worked it Seton. In fact, I wore her lanyard after she retired. Through Marilyn I felt I knew Amy growing up & Maureen. I have been praying for the 3 of you for years. Blessings during this transion time.

Amy, I shared your mom’s obituary with TxDOT retiree Facebook group. I would be honored to attend her celebration of life.

I worked with and even supervised your mom for many years at TxDOT. I became the director of MPO in San Antonio so also worked with her in group of MPO directors.

She was a wonderful person. I visited her for business when she was working in DC.

I remember how excited she was about becoming a mom. She brought you to a lot of TxDOT social events. I remember you as a young person who preferred raw vegetables to the sweet treats at those functions. She taught you good nutrition!
