I met Mo in 1969 when we both lived in Mill Valley. She lived next door to my fiancé. When we found out he was seeing us both, we dumped him & became life long friends. Mo referred me for a job at the same company she & Ron worked & the 3 of us commuted together everyday to San Francisco. When she needed a roommate I moved in. One of our favorite things to do was go to Baskin Robbins for "triple treats." Mo's rule was that we could only have the ice cream if we walked the two blocks to downtown Mill Valley. She always got triple marshmallow. After I moved out & Ron moved to Santa Cruz for a few months, I went to Mo's every weekend from Friday night until Sunday night. We both loved playing cards & board games, with Yahtzee being our game of choice. We would take a break about 11pm, and drive to Tower Records in San Francisco to buy music, and then return home to play more games. Years later when Ron & Mo lived in San Rafael I continued to be part of their life. When my daughter, Erika, was born, Mo was in the labor room. I named my daughter Erika Maureen, after Mo. From then on Mo became "Auntie MoMo" & Ron became "Poppy." At Mo's urging, we spent every weekend at their house along w/Ron's daughter & her son, Drew. We continued playing our marathon games, swam, & the kids played. They took the kids camping, water skiing & on so many adventures even after moving to Willits. Mo did so much over the years for us. She had a big heart for people, even those she didn't know well. Animals were her love & joy. I'm sure she had other "best friends, " but she was MY best friend for over 50 years. There's a huge spot in my heart for her & a great loss.

Mo was one of a kind, with a heart of gold and the best laugh. She is the definition of someone you could always count on. My mom (MJ) was lucky to have her as a lifelong best friend, and as a result I was fortunate to call her Auntie Mo Mo. I was named after her, but she called me Bear. How do I honor someone who gave me so much? So many memories that shaped my childhood, and still define me every day. I hope that I can be half the friend and aunt that she was. She set the bar really high. She loooooooved animals. If someone can be judged by how they treat animals, then she was the best of us all. She is surrounded by her beloved pets now, equally loved. RIP Mo. You are so loved, and deeply missed. We will always carry you in our hearts. Love, Bear.
Dear Jefferson and the Coombs Family - We are sending our deepest sympathies and love to you all during this time of grieving. If there is anything we can do to help support you let us know. Love, Helen & Julie

Hi Jefferson and family,

It was with great sadness I heard about your sister. I’ve never met her, but I can only imagine how difficult it must be to lose your sibling; if I lost my brother, my heart would be broken into countless pieces. I’m offering you and your family and loved ones as much emotional support as one can offer over the ethereal computer airwaves. Sending so much love and support!

We belonged to a wonderful group of neighbors back in the 80's and 90's on Pine Mountain, that included Ron, Mo, Peggy and Kirk. Many fun potlucks and"Road Parties"! Mo and our Laura had many special times together and would sing their own song called "We are the Mountain Girls!" We will cherish those memories of each of those special friends forever. Fly free Mo! We love you.

A lot of people are cheerful, talented, industrious, upbeat and kind to animals, but Mo was really, REALLY all that and more. I should know in that she's brought sunshine into my life for 71
years.
