It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Matthew James Roddy, who left this world on Sunday, September 21, 2025. He was a loving husband, father, brother, and friend whose courage and resilience inspired everyone who knew him.

Born on February 18, 1966, Matthew lived a life defined by strength, perseverance, and love. From an early age, he faced tremendous medical challenges with a spirit that never wavered. Even after enduring numerous surgeries and setbacks throughout his life, Matthew met each day with humor, faith, and compassion. His story is one of quiet heroism — a man who never gave up, no matter how difficult the path ahead.

He is survived by his devoted wife, Brenda Cantwell; his loving children, Amanda Solesbee and Matthew Solesbee; and his siblings Susie, Marty, Jen, Christina, Jimmy, and Steve.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Martin and Mary Roddy, and his brother Patrick.

To his children, Matthew was more than a stepfather — he was Dad. His love, patience, and loyalty built a bond that will never fade. He shared a deep and enduring love with his wife, Brenda, who stood beside him through every challenge, every surgery, and every moment of joy.

Matthew will be remembered for his gentle heart, his courage in adversity, and his ability to bring light and laughter to those around him. His legacy is one of love, perseverance, and unwavering devotion to his family.

A celebration of Matthew’s life will be held at a later date, where family and friends will gather to share memories and honor his remarkable journey.
