I played against Lock in highschool and of course had my thoughts about him. It wasn't until college when we were on the same team that I saw what a good human he was. Infectiously energetic and truly kind the world is going to miss him.

Matt lit up every room that he walked in to and approached everything with such positivity and energy. I’ll never forget all the time I got to spend with him and the memories and conversations we got to share. He loved playing golf and we had so many great conversations strolling the fairways. The Saturday morning tee times will not be the same without him but I’ll cherish every single one I got to share with him.

I joined bird in 2018 and I remember one of the first nights after I made the team lock invited me over to their house to party with the old heads. He was one of the first bird guys to really welcome me into team and make me feel like a part of the family. He was endlessly supportive of everyone on the team and his energy lifted everyone to be better. I’ll never forget the time I got to share the patch with him.

Lock was one of my favorite teammates I ever played with. His attitude towards frisbee and everything else he did was contagious. His passion could be felt by everyone he was around, and his friendship and companionship went beyond ultimate. He will be deeply missed, but his memory and drive will live on in the people he touched.

Rod and I had just arrived to Rhiannon and Zak Presley's wedding.  Matt greeted us with the most dramatic account of our rental car being towed from the wedding event parking lot.  He had us engrossed as he confirmed the car make (Nissan Maxima) and color (black), as well as the details of the tow truck about to drive off with our rental car.  We then discussed appropriate parking spaces and location for the wedding event.  By Rod's and my determination, we had parked according to the proper protocols.  Well,  needless to say, as only Matt could do, he kept us going on about this unfortunate event as we all started to walk to the parking lot. Then, he and I looked at each other and we broke out in hysterics!  That is our INCREDIBLE MATT story!  Matt's sense of humor and power of persuasion live to infinity and beyond!
