I'm so sorry to hear of Matthew's passing. I worked with Matthew at ZS, and while we worked together only briefly, we embarked on our first Anaplan projects together so we shared a lot of highs and lows. Matthew was always full of joy (tinged with sarcasm) and kindness. I still remember a time we were on work travel on the East Coast, and I arrived pretty late in the evening, so Matthew brought me a surprise Chipotle bowl on arrival. He was always thinking of others. My deepest condolences to his family.

Matt was one of the smartest people I worked with as a fellow strategy consultant at Deloitte Consulting. Despite how smart he was, he was a very kind & caring person as well. We'll all miss him.

I worked with Matthew for several years at Tableau. We started around the same time and I was blown away by his technical skills and ability to project manage. His high bar for performance made me a better professional and human being. Lucky to have had this time learning from Matthew and I’m very saddened by his passing. He will be missed.

My condolences to Matthew's family. I first met Matthew when working at Tableau and had the privilege of him reporting to me for a few years. He is someone who was a rare individual when it came to breaking down walls of complex processes in making them simple, consumable and scalable. From a personal note I always loved talking with Matthew about home maintenance and repairs.
I'm sad to hear of his passing. His passing is a tragic event that took a good human way too early.

I’m so sorry to hear of Matthew’s passing. We worked together for a few years at Tableau and since we were desk neighbors he was always willing to stop what he was doing and help me out whenever I had anaplan questions. He absolutely loved being an uncle and shared stories about the kids all of the time, you could tell how proud he was to be in that role. He also became a cat dad and got a real kick out of their shenanigans. He’s gone way too soon, sending my love to his family and friends. ❤️

Matt, it’s been a few days since I learned of your passing. I still can’t believe it, and I’m still hoping that somehow it’s not true. You’re the only person I shared classes with in middle school, high school, and college. I wish that you were still around, so that we could trade stories and reminisce. I’m glad that we were able to meet up last summer. Thanks for visiting me in Japan too. I remember Goldeneye64, cheat codes, Age of Empires 2, Mechwarrior 3, your rap, AP study questions, your comics, Kuocorp, talking politics, Linkin Park, 8th grade debate partner. Thanks for all your academic help over the years, and your companionship. It wasn’t supposed to be like this. I miss you Kuo.

Matthew couldn't shake me - Deloitte, Extend Health, ZS Associates, Anaplan. More than 15 years working together at the same company or across the aisle partnering at different companies.
I've never seen someone as talented as Matthew was in building a financial model, and then being able to simplify the explanation. When our VP of Operations at a call center in Utah questioned the power of regressions to predict call volumes, Matthew built a PowerPoint presentation explaining predictions on whether the Utah Jazz could win the NBA title. The VP of Operations was convinced and only used fancy math going forward!
I have so many fond memories of working with Matthew. We accomplished a lot together, and had a lot of fun doing it too. His witty sense of humor was the best, and he always had a zinger for me. I remember he caught me by surprise 6 years in to our friendship. "Hey, my name is Matthew, not Matt." Oops. "Why didn't you tell me that sooner?" I was mortified. He laughed, "I dunno. You seemed really steadfast in calling me Matt."
Matthew, oh how I will miss you. You made me a better person. You taught me so much about financial modeling. You made me laugh so much over the years working together. You are special soul. Thank you for joining me through the last 15 years of work adventures and many trips to Minglaba. This journey wouldn't have been the same without you.
To Matthew's family, he loved you so much and was so proud of each and everyone of you.

I met Matthew after sitting on a panel that he moderated a few years ago. He brought expertise, passion, some really bad connected planning puns, and a smile to what we all do every day. In the years since, he was also someone that I tried to get to both work for us and to hire us – ultimately to no avail, but he was a shoe in. If you had the opportunity to meet him, you probably came away from the conversation having learned something.

Matthew made a lasting impression during his short few months’ time with us at Equinix. His willingness to help others made him the ‘Go To’ person, and he was well-respected by everyone who had the pleasure of working with him. He became integral part of our team. Matthew had so much potential to offer and will be deeply missed, and his passing has left a void that cannot be filled. At work, I was collaborating with him on designing Anaplan COE for Equinix and spoke with him on a daily basis over past few months. I will always remember him as a valued team member and a dear friend. We extend our deepest condolences to his family and friends during this difficult time. May he rest in peace.
