Completely overwhelmed with t…
Completely overwhelmed with the love & support shown by Dulaney High School, the entire LAX team/coaches, parents & all of Matt’s friends & family during the seniors night last evening! They presented us each with Matt’s actual jerseys he wore during his time there…I’ve included a pix of Matt’s senior night 11 years ago showing the same Nike jersey (I got the same home/white one) which will be proudly displayed with Matt’s favorite Ravens/Orioles memorabilia. I truly believe they were saved & stored away just for this occasion. Special thanks to Devin Colegrove, Coach Fiat & each member of this team for making this night happen! I cannot express the gratitude for helping keep my sons legacy alive. My heart hurts & is in pain most of the time but last night I felt pride & joy! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

Forever thankful for the wonderful memorial game and dedication for Matthew! The DHS lax team is a group of amazing young men with compassion and a strong sense of community! We will have a lifetime of heartfelt memories! ❤️🥍
From Matt’s best friend Devin…
From Matt’s best friend Devin: On February 28th this year, I lost a best friend too soon. Matt Bruno was a great friend, teammate, brother and son. He was someone who cared deeply about his friends, and someone who brought everyone together - always for a good time. There are not enough words to describe what Matt meant to me and the people around him, and there are no words to describe the loss I feel now that he isn’t around. I will miss Matt for the rest of my life. • Recently, I had a chance to speak about Matt to the Dulaney Lacrosse Boys Varsity team, for which my youngest brother plays, and for who Matt and I played for together 11 years ago. I told them a little bit about Matt as a person, a lacrosse player, and a friend. • Later that evening a received a text from one of the captains that said the following: “The captains got together with the team and everyone has agreed to dedicate the rest of the season to Matt Bruno… We are going to donate a portion of our fundraiser to a charity in Matt’s name, hold a memorial game for Matt at one of our last home games to have Matt’s friends and family attend… and for the rest of the season we wear his initials “MB” written on tape on the chin of our helmets” • Needless to say I was blown away by the selflessness and maturity of a group of high school kids to think of something like this on their own, let alone for a person they don’t even know. The impact they had on me was immediate - showing a sense of leadership, selflessness, and action I don’t think I’ve ever seen. The impact they will have on Matt’s family, memory, and legacy will be everlasting. • Dulaney takes on Catonsville on their Senior Day and “Matthew Bruno Memorial Game” on April 28th at 5:15pm. Before the game, there will be some words said about Matt, as well as a picture taken with the team and all friends and family of Matt. If you would like to be there for this, please arrive around 4:45pm to the Dulaney Stadium. If you knew Matt, and plan on coming, please spread the word. • Rest In Peace, Matt 💜
