Matthew's obituary

Matthew Aaron Hicks, 35 of Gladstone, Missouri, beloved Son, Brother, Uncle and Friend to many passed away suddenly on April 30, 2021. He was born November 7, 1985 to Jimmy Dale and Diannia (Anderson) Hicks. He was a graduate of Blue Springs South. He enjoyed growing up in the country when his family lived on acreage with a stocked pond near Stover, Missouri. Things were simpler and slower then. He became the proud owner of a race car without floorboards when he sold his perfectly good Pontiac Grandam to a friend. Matt never met a stranger and enjoyed life. He was a skilled Tournament Disc Golf Player as a member of the KCDG. He loved playing with his best friend - like a brother, Jason Weaver. He also enjoyed Pokemon. Above all, he loved his family, adored his nieces and nephews. He took his oldest great-nephew to the Park, even in the rain, not long before he died. He is preceded in death by his Paternal and Maternal Grandparents, Uncle, Ray Hicks, Niece, Taylor Renee Hicks and a Cousin, Randy Hicks. Those left to cherish his memory are his beloved Parents; Jimmy and Diannia Hicks, Brothers; Michael Hicks, Kenny Hicks and Steven Hicks. A Celebration of Life will be held May 22, 2021 at Birmingham Community Center at 510 Spratley Street, Kansas City, Missouri 64161 at 4pm.
