I had met Matt at Lindenwood University in Ethics class. I hadn't been to school since 1999 when I graduated with my Bachelors degree. I remember sitting in class with my laptop and trying to navigate the online application in which all professors/school now utilized. I had no idea what I was doing. I made the comment, " I remember being here in the late 90's and everything was turned in via paper." He laughed and smiled. I then asked if he could help me because I was totally lost with this new way of submitting assignments. He gladly helped. He contributed a lot to the class and shared about his work with autistic children. After that class, I had Matt in several other courses. We always made sure when we broke off into group work we would be in the same group. Matt was so very welcoming and pleasant to be around. I often times felt uncomfortable because of me being older than most students, but Matt was very welcoming. Matt will be very missed.
I had a few classes with Matt. He was so passionate about his studies and wanting to help others. He was my go-to person when we broke off into groups. Lifting his family and friends up in my prayers. He will be missed
My prayers for God's comfort during this difficult time. My heart breaks for Emily and the family. God Bless

Matt had a heart of Gold. I can’t think of a single person who wanted to help people the way that he did. I’ll never forget his laugh, the real one or the sarcastic one.
