Matthew “Matt” Gerhardt

November 1, 1981 – June 7, 2025

Matthew “Matt” Gerhardt, age 43, passed away peacefully in his sleep on June 7, 2025, entering the loving arms of God. A devoted son, loyal friend, and kindhearted soul, Matt was a source of light to all who knew him.

Born on November 1, 1981, Matt grew up in Richardson, Texas. He graduated from J.J. Pearce High School in 2000 and went on to attend Texas Tech University. Matt built a successful career in business development and sales, holding roles at Bank of America, McAfee, Trend Micro, and most recently Palo Alto Networks. Known for his warmth, determination, and ability to connect with people, he was admired by colleagues and loved by friends.

Matt’s life was defined by laughter, and friends. Known for his sharp wit, quick humor, and easygoing nature, Matt had a way of making life more fun for everyone around him. To his parents, Sandy and Alan Gerhardt, he was a blessing and their true “Gift of God.” Though his life was far too short, the memories he leaves behind will remain forever cherished.

He is survived by his parents, Sandy and Alan Gerhardt, along with extended family and countless friends who will carry his spirit forward.

Two Celebrations of Life were held on dates, giving all who loved Matt an opportunity to gather in his memory:

• Saturday, July 12, 2025, from 2–6 p.m. at MadHatters Neighborhood Pub/Cityline in Richardson, Texas

• Saturday, July 26, 2025, from 2–6 p.m. at Rentsch Brewery in Georgetown, Texas

Both events were open for friends and loved ones to come and go, or to stay and share memories together.

Matt was truly one of a kind, and his presence will be deeply missed. His family takes comfort in knowing that he did not suffer and that his legacy will continue to shine through all those he touched.
