Matthew's obituary
It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Matthew Dooley, who left us far too early on June 26, 2023. Born on October 12, 1988, Matthew's life was a testament to his energy, enthusiasm, creativity, determination, and wit.
Matthew leaves behind a loving family, including his mother, Kay Dooley; his father, Timothy Dooley; his brother, Danny Gordon; and his sisters, Jennifer Gordon and Jessica Marinelli. Each of them deeply mourns his loss, but cherishes the memories they have of him.
Known for his adventurous spirit, Matthew delighted in trying new foods, especially sushi, Indian dishes, and Filipino cuisine. His love for exploration also took him to the Philippines, where he immersed himself in the local culture.
Matthew had a profound appreciation for literature and music. Throughout his life, he dove into books to better understand the world around him. He also had a penchant for music; from Led Zeppelin and Blink 182 in his youth to Tupac and Biggie in his adulthood, Matthew's taste in music was as diverse as his interests.
A proud Seattle native, Matthew was an lifelong fan of the Mariners, a love he shared with his father growing up. He also enjoyed mixing music and creating lyrics, using his love for music to create and share his own pieces.
Despite life's struggles, Matthew took everything in stride. His resilience is evident in his achievements, including graduating from Rancho Bernardo High School in 2007.
As we remember Matthew, we will celebrate his love for life, his sense of humor, and his unwavering determination – these are the qualities that defined him. His big smile and infectious laughter will live on with us forever. His legacy lives on in every life he touched and every heart he warmed.
