I was absolutely shocked to hear of Matt's passing - I really enjoyed working with him on the North-South BRT project while he was at Chapel Hill Transit. He always seemed to have so many side projects going on (in addition to a full-time job and owning a pizzeria) - his energy and work ethic were truly unique. That's one of the many reasons why his passing at such a young age seems so especially wrong. Thinking of his fiance, family, friends, and colleagues during this terrible time - please know that he was admired and appreciated within the transit community and that he will be missed.

I am so sorry to learn of Matt's passing! I worked with Matt for about six years on Chapel Hill BRT. He was such a nice person and had a great sense of humor. I enjoyed working with him a lot. My condolences to Matt's family, fiancee, and friends.
