Mr. Matt C. Boney, age 35, of Vidalia, died Monday, April 20, 2020, at his home. He was a native of Vidalia, a 2002 graduate of Vidalia Comprehensive High School and served in the U.S. Navy. He was a journeyman lineman with several companies, including Irby Construction and Sumter Electric. He was a member of the Revelation Church in Cedar Crossing. Matt enjoyed bass fishing at the Oconee and Altamaha Rivers and at Clark’s Hill Lake. He was passionate about playing guitar and singing and liked grilling for family and friends.

Mr. Boney is survived by one son, Athens C. Boney and his mother Stephanie Boney of Lyons; mother, Christy Collins and husband Mark of Cobbtown; father, Ronnie Boney and fiancé Donna Farmer of Higgston; one brother, Heath Boney of Higgston; his fiancé, Hillary Hart of Lyons; two step-sisters, Hope Carr and husband Chris of Lyons, and Paige Collins of Vidalia; paternal grandmother, Frances Kight of Macon; and several aunts, uncles, cousins and one niece.

There will be a limited visitation and viewing for friends from 1:00 until 5:00 on Thursday, with a maximum of ten friends in the funeral home at one time. The standard six of social distancing will apply. Burial and a Celebration of life will follow later in Sunlight Cemetery in Cobbtown.
