In the fall season of 2012, my wife and I, when we were dating before we got married, took advantage while on a group trip to the Arkansas State Fair, and broke away from the group to go see a band who was playing.

That band was The Sound of the Mountain, and the band, no doubt very much due to Matt's talent, absolutely blew our minds.

My wife and I both are big fans of drumming in rock and metal music, and we certainly still listen to their music, with Matt's drumming, with amazement to this day in 2024, now living in Texas and nearly 10 years married, and almost 12 years after sharing that moment and meeting the band afterwards.
I am so sorry for your loss Mrs. White. You helped me so much when I had you as a teacher at Haas Hall, so I wanted to help you even a fraction of how much you helped me.
Donation and condolences for you and your precious girls Jasmine. Sending extra hugs for Penny.  ❤️~ Mrs. Hern

I feel lucky to have met Matt during some of his visits to see Josh in Louisiana back in the day. Always a fun, kind, and great person to be around. My thoughts are with the entire White family during this time.

I remember the first time meeting Matt at Valley Fest in Russellville. I was wearing a dragon shirt running around pretending a stick was a sword - he told me he knew immediately we would be the best of friends. I remember a group of friends and myself making a dish soap jacuzzi in his parents empty house right when it was finished before they moved in and calling for him to wake up while he slept face down in an empty room that would become his room and then the hilarious look on his face when he saw a bunch of his friends sitting in a tub by candle light. I remember nerding out over anime and scrubs together. Him proving he is the bigger Godzilla fan. Playing Mario Party in Daniel's and my dorm. Yelling his name MATT WHITE at every band he played in. I'm really lucky I got to spent so many years hanging out with him. I spent new years playing video games with him, Jazz and their girls. Playing games with them all just took me back, like every other time I got to play a game with Matt, to being kids, goofing off, felt timeless every time. Matt had this great way of making you live in the moment and feel carefree. He just made everyone feel so loved and happy.

I am so incredibly sorry for the loss of Matt. Sending you and your girls so much love
