Matt's obituary
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Matt Pledger, a beloved father, grandfather, brother, & son. Matt Pledger was born in Houston, Texas, and for the last nine years, has called The Colony, Texas, home. He has spent his last years as a dedicated craftsman and entrepreneur, known for his quality and commitment to mailbox leveling and restoration.
While he found immense satisfaction in his work, one of Matt’s greatest joys was being out on the lake. He had a need for speed and delighted in the thrill of going as fast as possible on the tranquil waters of Lewisville Lake. This was a light that was so bright in his life, and he loved sharing these moments and memories of pure happiness with his family and friends.
Matt attended Prestonwood Baptist Church in Plano, Texas and was actively involved in his bible study group. “Amazing Grace” is the perfect embodiment of salvation led by Matt. What was once a life marked by heartache and the weight of bad choices, his journey was a testament to the transformative power of faith and redemption. He took the broken pieces and through unwavering devotion, gave his life to Christ. Spreading the gospel with a warm heart and open arms every second of the day was his purpose, touching the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Besides his unwavering faith, one of Matt Pledger’s most remarkable qualities was his selflessness. He gave far beyond his means, always putting the needs of others before his own. His generosity knew no bounds, and his acts of kindness left an indelible mark on those that he blessed.
While his absence leaves a void that cannot be filled, his spirit will continue to inspire us to live with purpose, giving, and faith. We thank you for joining us in honoring a life redeemed by grace and devoted to sharing the light of Christ with the world.
